BUILDING A HOME
Building a new home happens in phases.
In order to prepare you for what to expect when building, we have outlined the "Smart" Process for you.
Three distinct phases make up the Smart Process
Smart Custom Homes is a design/build company.
How that benefits our customers is that we are able to design your home from concept to completion. We can design your home from rough hand sketches, photographs, or just ideas. Our Design department can put into a blueprint just what you were dreaming about! Because we have our own designer, our plans are drawn more in-depth and with more information than a typical blueprint. Having blueprints that are very specific makes the bidding and construction phases of our homes progress a lot smoother than many other builders.
Before you schedule your Initial Meeting, we ask that you do some homework. Please have the following ready for us before our first meeting:
- Obtain pre-approval from lender
- Know your budget
- Fill out the New Home Wish list from our website
During our initial meeting:
- Let's get to know each other! We can determine what your design needs are and how we can help you. If you need us to draft your plans we can do that.
- Discuss Budget. A crucial starting point for the design process.
- If you have a lot, we will discuss the characteristics of your lot and how they may impact the design of your home. We ask that you bring to your first meeting any information you may have for your lot. (eg: Certified Survey Map and/or Soil Test). This information is helpful in our initial evaluation of your lot.
- If you do not have a lot, we are licensed real estate Brokers, and we can help in finding just the right location for your new custom home.
